Real Estate for Sale: Houses, Apartments, Villas in Perugia
The Province of Perugia in Italy is located in the region of Umbria. The city of Perugia is the historical and administrative center of the region. The city is located in a hilly area overlooking the entire Tiber Valley and the Trasimeno Sea. During the Renaissance, the Umbrian school produced unrivaled masters such as Perugino and Raphael Santi. For a long time, long and bloody battles were waged over the territory, until in 1540 the province was annexed to the Papal States. In 1797, the French named Perugia the capital of the Tiberian Republic. Since the Etruscan era, some elements of walls, gates, and burial chambers have survived in the province. Throughout Perugia, there is an archaeological center where you can see all the remarkable finds from the local area. In the center of the capital stands the unrivaled Fontana Maggiore, decorated with magnificent reliefs with mythological motifs. Nearby is the medieval town hall, built in the late thirteenth century. It now houses an art museum. In the Cathedral of San Lorenzo, you can see the Virgin Mary's wedding ring. Despite being one of the smallest cities in the world, Perugia has a metro line approximately four kilometers long.
