Piedmont launches a new initiative for those who want to live in harmony with nature. Among the Piedmont Alps, several municipalities pay those who move to live there looking for another place to continue working or start a new business. And now about this in order.
An initiative aimed at revitalizing the municipalities of Piedmont with a population of less than 5 thousand people and offers a contribution of 10 thousand to 40 thousand euros (total budget of 10 million euros) for an investment in a house.
According to the President of the Piedmont region, Alberto Chirio, after two years of the pandemic, this idea of living in the fresh air, in contact with nature, is an amazing opportunity to invest in the future and it will be beneficial for the extraordinary mountains of Italy.
The decree will be published on September 1 and will last until December 31, 2021, and will be combined with other similar initiatives to support the activities of the mountainous territories of Italy.
Which Italian municipalities in Piedmont pay you to live there
There are 465 small municipalities: 48 in the province of Alessandria, 12 in the province of Asti, 48 in the province of Biella, 132 in the province of Cuneo, 3 in the province of Novara, 132 in the province of Turin, 66 in Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, 24 in the province of Vercelli). Who can apply? By age: who was born from 1955 onwards, who wants to move to one of the mountain municipalities in question; in particular, those born since 1980 will receive a higher score to encourage youth participation in this initiative.
What are the requirements for receiving a contribution? In short: in one of the indicated municipalities the main house must be located for ten years. Pro Points: Additional points are earned, such as work or telecommuting at least 50% in the home for which funding is requested. Additional points also for those who renovate a building with architectural and landscape solutions provided by the Piedmont region, using materials typical of the Piedmont alpine landscape and assigning works to companies with a registered office in the Piedmont mountain municipality.
In the case of a down payment for the purchase of a home, the purchase contract must be agreed within 6 months from the date of approval, while renovations must be completed within 18 months. However, the report must be submitted within 3 months from the date of completion of the work.
