Caserta is a province in Italy located in the northern part of Campania. The capital is the pretty city of Caserta, where the majestic Caserta Palace is located, which previously served as a resting place for the great rulers of Naples.


Caserta is located in the western part of Italy and has access to the Tyrrhenian Sea. But on the coast there are two large settlements of the province - Mondragone and Castel Volturno.

The province was founded in 1945. The largest cities are Caserta and Aversa.

In the north are the Matese Mountains, as well as a beautiful karst lake full of various types of fish. Nearby is also Miletto and the lake of the same name, which is the highest mountain lake in the whole country.

In Caserta, the Matese Nature Reserve was also established in 2002.
