Real estate for sale: houses, villas, apartments in Modena, Emilia-Romagna region.
Modena is a province of Italy that is part of the Emilia-Romagna region.
Back in the second century BC, Modena served as a staging ground for the legions of the ancient Roman Empire. They occupied the entire territory along the Via Emilia highway. Only in the XII century the province gained independence and became a separate community. Nevertheless, at the end of the next century, the d'Este family captured the province and ruled over it. In 1598, d'Este made Modena the capital of their principality, which served as the basis for the more active development of the city and the region, respectively.
The province of Modena is best known for its two natives - Enzo Ferrari and Luciano Pavarotti.
The province can rightfully be considered the birthplace of Lambrusco, parmesan and balsamic vinegar.
Despite the large number of modern factories and factories in the province, Modena has managed to preserve the spirit of antiquity. In the center of the regional capital, there is a wide variety of bright squares, amazing palaces, as well as small stalls with all kinds of goods and souvenirs.
The main reasons for visiting Modena are the Cathedral, the Torre Civica Tower and the beautiful Piazza Grande - all of which have been listed by UNESCO.
