The most beautiful and cheapest village in Italy

Offida is not only one of the most beautiful, but also the cheapest villages in Italy, in the province of Ascoli Piceno.

What is nice: to keep the village from being empty, the municipality decided not to force new citizens to pay taxes for ten years, cool, right?

The name of the village sounds unusual, don't you agree? Nowhere else in Italy are cities starting with "Off" anymore. And in Mark there are two of them: Offida and Offagna, however, they are located exactly at opposite ends of the region

But what is so special about this village? Offida stands on a rocky cliff (Church of Santa Maria della Rocca, an old Lombard fortress, surrounded on three sides by cliffs and walled in the 15th century.

In the village, Piazza del Popolo with its town hall and its elegant loggia is a must-see.

Walking through the streets of the village you will want to have a bite to eat. No wonder they say: "In Offida you spend little and eat well."

Among Offida's specialties are "Tacc include" (a simple local dish of tagliolini cooked with or without broth), "Chichì ripieno" (delicious rustic focaccia stuffed with tuna, capers, anchovies, peppers and olives) and for dessert the sweets "Funghetti"
